Daniel Liao
Director
Daniel is a student at Dougherty Valley High School with hundreds of hours of accumulated teaching experience in both group and individual settings. In addition, he is the head coach for the GRMS Math Team, has extensive experience with olympiad mathematics, and develops math visualizations. In his free time, he likes to watch soccer and edit photos.
Aiden Jiang
Assistant Director
Aiden is a student at Dougherty Valley High School. He has achieved Honor Roll on the AMC8 and held the highest score on the GRMS MATHCOUNTS team. Outside of math, he enjoys playing both violin and piano and plays water polo for the DVHS Men’s team.

Taran Ajith
Head of Math
Taran is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with extensive competition math experience, including being a 5x AIME Qualifier, achieving distinction on the AMC10, placing 6th at the Stanford Math Tournament, and finishing 1st at Mathleague.org Nationals. Outside of math, he enjoys practicing gymnastics.
Abhay Mangla

Abhay is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with experience in both olympiad mathematics and higher-level math, including Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, the AMC Series, and various other contests. In his free time, he enjoys coding and playing the trombone.

Karen is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. She has extensive teaching and cirriculum development experience through her time at both BobTutors and the DVHS Future Speakers Club. Outside of teaching, she likes to play the viola and golf.
Frank Shi

Frank is a senior at Dougherty Valley High School with 5 years of teaching experience and 250+ volunteer hours. He won first place at both the Contra Costa County Science Fair and California Science Fair, has two published papers, and is writing his third. In his free time, he enjoys playing violin and going to the gym.
Arshia Ghatak

Arshia is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School. She has taught over a hundred students through her experience at ALL for STEAM and Girls Who Code Chapter at DVHS. Additionally, she is also experience in cirriculum development and management through her aforementioned leadership roles.

Michael is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School. He has been playing piano for 8 years and cello for 5 years. He has attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and studied under various professional teachers.

Jeannie is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with extensive tutoring experience through YMCA and various school programs. She has represented her school in Math Olympiad, MATHCOUNTS, AMC8, USABO, and BBO competitions.
Hayagriv Sriram (Haigu)

Haigu is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School who has been playing music for 5+ years, including drums, guitar, and piano. His teaching experience includes both percussion and guitar, and he is proficient in math and physics with experience in engineering and olympiad physics.
Joanna Jiang

Joanna is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School who teaches a variety of subjects from math and science to history and English. She loves working with kids and helping students learn. Outside of tutoring, she enjoys music, art, traveling, painting, and playing guitar.
Joshua Kocherry

Josh is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with three years of tutoring and mentoring experience. Josh has worked with students ranging from elementary to high school students through the DVHS Music Service club, peer tutoring in chemistry, and coaching youth soccer teams. Josh is proficient in math up to precalculus, and highly skilled in Biology, Chemistry, and English. Josh is passionate about making learning clear, engaging, and building confidence for all my students.

Dominick is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School. He is a native Mandarin speaker with extensive experience teaching both oral and written Chinese.

Sen is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with experience teaching both math and English to non-native speakers. Outside of teaching, he is passionate about engineering, 3D design, and automobiles.

Michael is senior at Dougherty Valley High School. Michael has several years of teaching experience through the DVHS Science Alliance program, and is part of the DVHS Jazz Band, playing the guitar. He is highly proficient in math, science, and music theory.
Krishna Sreeneel

Krishna is junior at Dougherty Valley High School. Krishna has professional teaching experience, working for both Kumon and the DVHS Science Alliance program, giving him exposure to working with younger students. In addition, he is highly skilled in Biology, achieving Silver in the British Biology Olympiad.

Devansh is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with a deep passion for mathematics and science. Through the Science Alliance program, he guided 5th graders in developing their science fair projects, helping them grasp complex topics.

Aadvik is a junior at DVHS. He has extensive experience in contest math (AMC, BMC) and computer science (USACO) and is a certified tutor in AP Calculus BC and below, AP Physics 1, APCSP and English. In his free time, Aadvik likes to coach top tier Rocket League, play video games and volleyball!
Jeisa Ng

Jeisa is a sophomore at DVHS and a part of the DVHS Leadership team. She serves as the Dance Coordinator for DV’s Vietnamese Student Association and has years of experience coaching fencing. Outside of school, Jeisa enjoys spending time with friends, filmmaking and video editing, and traveling.

Kayla is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School. She has worked with students from different elementary schools and middle schools and loves to get to know new people. In her free time, she enjoys eating food and dancing.
Smriti Krishna
Math, Science
Smriti is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School with a passion for teaching and science. She has two years of experience teaching at Koos Martial Arts and enjoys volunteering in her community. This past summer, she gained hands-on experience in molecular biology research at CSU East Bay, where she worked on DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing. Outside of academics, Smriti loves to paint, play the alto saxophone, and express her creativity through both art and music.
