AMC8/MATHCOUNTS Fundamentals Class

This course covers all the key concepts and techniques tested both the AMC8 and the MATHCOUNTS problem series. This course will cover Algebra, Geometry, and Number Theory/Combinatorics as well as basic problem-solving skills and mathematical intuition. Classes will be held online weekly for a total of 18 sessions.
Pre-requisites
- This class is designed for students aged 9-14, but younger or older students can take it depending on their current math level.
- Students should be familiar with basic algebraic concepts like variables and equations, and should be able to reason abstractly. They should also be able to understand key geometric principles like lines, planes, and points.
Dates
Classes will be held weekly on Saturdays at 5-6:30 pm. The class will begin on 8/17/2024 and end on 12/21/2024, with a break on the week of Thanksgiving (11/30).
Other Information
Classes will be held on Zoom, and Google Classroom will be the platform used for class handouts and communications. (Optional) Weekly homework will be assigned, but students are recommended to complete it in order to gain the most out of this course.
